I found a fan-made trailer of MI - City of Bones. In comparison with the official trailer this fanwork creates tension by inserting scenes of the different characters - showing each one only for about one second - instead of using words. Both start similarly by showing the nightclub scene in which Clary sees Jace. However, the fan-made trailer is shorter and in contrast to the official trailer less dramatic as well as less informative because the viewer does not get much information about what is actually going to happen in the film.

In my opinion, the fan-made trailer also tries to create tension with the music. To me, the song seemed so dominant and all the scenes were built around it, while it seemed like the music of the official trailer was just used to support the dramatic scenes. If I had not read the book, I would not get to know the main plot by watching that fan-make trailer. Yet, I do not want to talk bad about the editor, since he or she seems experienced with making fan videos and I would not even be able to do something like that. Interesting post!
