As to the content: Ebay sold some of the original wardrobe items of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" which can be interpreted as a sign of quite popular online fandom as well as e-commerce. However, the auction created tensions among fans and within the series because of the sexualization of the main character Buffy and other characters. While Fox claimed that the wardrobe is only intended to be sold as "collector's items" others were afraid that the clothes were used by fans for their sexual pleasure.
